7 April 2006 Partnership working

back

Elevate held an event bringing together local authorities and group repair suppliers and contractors to launch an innovative partnership way of working.

The 50 attendees included representatives from Elevate’s five local authority partners; six selected partner contractors for HMR-funded group repair and facelift; and suppliers of windows, doors and scaffolding who have gone through the tender process.

Attendees were given an overview of the HMR pathfinder, its procurement system and the key challenges that can only be overcome by all the partners working in collaboration to deliver the same aims. They discussed issues and concerns and generated ideas around better ways of working together, such as greater openness, more sharing of information and joint approaches to problem-solving and managing the supply chain.

This partnership way of working has already begun through a Consortium of Constructors just launched by Elevate to very positive feedback, which encourages companies to share resource, skills and even apprenticeships.
